First off, I'm not a writer. It's hard for me to put my thoughts down on paper. In fact, it takes a really, really long time for me to create any blog post. So already, this isn't my wheelhouse, so to speak and it was hard to find the motivation to blog. Preschool was taking a ton of time for me to prepare and I was feeling like every moment was preparing for school, doing school or blogging about school. So my efforts had worn thin. Then after many many frustrating episodes with attempting to upload pictures into my other blog, I decided to let it go for that year. One year turned into two. Now I'm looking back over those old blog posts and my heart warms at the pictures, activities and time I put into remembering.
I would very much like to blog again this year. However, I have to find an easier way to deal with pictures. So....here's hoping that any kinks have been worked out magically.
I'm just adding some pictures of our art class. Rachel moved to town and asked others on our local Moms Club if they were interested in doing a weekly art class. I jumped at the chance. That was February 2011. Her ideas were awesome! She is a natural art lover and teacher. Her teaching techniques, art lesson ideas and passion completely inspired me. My kiddos have gotten to do things I would have never prepared or braved on my own. We've covered tons of artists and recovered many favorites. It's now May 2013 and she's moving back home. I'm grateful for the time she and her darlings were part of our lives. She had a bigger impact than she will ever know. I'm excited for the new friends she will make - and inspire!
Her and I after a 3 hour visit to MOMA with very young children. This was one of those things I would have NEVER done without her. We all had a terrific time and I would absolutely go back with the kids....even on my own!
